Great For Catching Wayward Pets!
I took a chance after reading the reviews and am happy with it. I can get all 90° of my kitchen from the corner. I like that you can set it to a petâs sound for notifications (mine goes âwoof-woofâ and itâs cute). It does catch people too (bummer!) and loud enough noises but it tells you in the notification if itâs motion or sound which is awesome! I sleep late so my husband unplugs or hides it so it wonât detect him going in and out of the kitchen and the notifications wonât wake me up but then forgets to put it back or plug it back in when he leaves for work. It will still send notifications but not make any alarm if your phone is set to Do Not Disturb mode which is also a nice feature. The picture is pretty clear for facing two windows. I dropped it about a foot onto its front lens and it didnât crack, break, glitch, error or anything. It still works perfectly. I like the magnetic base feature and the cool metal ring so you can mount it under cabinets or on a wall. The swivel up and down is nice but I have to manually adjust the left to right. It didnât seem to offer being able to move the camera view in the app. One day, it would have been nice to shift the view down via the app because it got bumped and I wasnât home to adjust it and didnât know it until there was motion detected. When I get in my car, which has hands free and I try to connect to the camera, it dials through my phone unless I shut off the WiFi. I donât get that. It also wonât stay connected to the camera for more than 2 minutes if it goes through the vehicle. It also takes longer to connect to the camera, even sitting in my driveway.I havenât had any weird squealing sounds when I connect like a few others have. I do wish that, when you expand the camera view on the phone/app, it wouldnât automatically enable the *microphone*. I want to catch my dog sniffing the counters and wanted to see if sheâd jump up to get something off of them but if there is any noise around me and I canât shut the mic off fast enough, she hears it and leaves the kitchen before I can catch her in the act.The overall camera and access is free, but you have to pay if you want to access recorded video from it. Itâs about $5/mo which isnât bad at all – it could come in handy if you miss notifications or canât access the camera quick enough.I did buy another brand but I am not happy with it. It only records in 1 minute increments, CONSTANTLY notifies you of ANY movement, has a confusing app that took me forever to figure out and annoyed me so much, so unplugged it and gave up. I would buy more of this PetCam instead. My two issues are these: It says you can share the app/camera but I canât figure out how (the YouTube video is outdated, my app didnât have the links or steps they showed) and I would like a way to OPT to be able to have the microphone be able to be turned off before full camera access if the consumer prefers it. Also, the USB to wall jack sticks out like 2â from the wall and where we have it plugged in was annoying so I purchased a flat one instead. Otherwise, so far, very happy with it. Had it about a month now.
Great little cameras!
I bought the two pack of cameras in hopes to check in on my cats while away on a trip abroad. The setup was super easy and the video stream is very clear! The tile and zoom work really well from the app, and other than the internet going out at my house from a power cut, I had no problems connecting to the cameras even while abroad. And this is all without the paid subscription! I think they’re a great value and a huge upgrade from a pet camera I tried a few years ago. I recommend!
Good product but it didn’t serve my needs 🙁
*4.5/5 stars- I was contacted by the company and asked to update my review. I will update it because they did work with me, but I want to be fair to the consumers. I returned it because it wasn’t what I was looking for. That is not the fault of the product, I was not aware of how the product works. I need a home surveillance system and will set one up in my home, including the area where my cats roam. I did find it difficult to remove my payment method. I signed up for a subscription because I thought I would keep the product and I found it difficult to remove my payment info from the app. I was able to cancel my subscription but couldn’t remove my card info because it’s one of those where you have to have one form of payment on file before removing another one. I contacted the company and they removed my payment info AND refunded me my subscription fee. I was very happy for that but removing your financials should be easier than it was. **It’s a great product but it’s not for me. The night vision is surprisingly good. The video quality is good, too. I have the trial subscription and didn’t use it much since I quickly figured out that I didn’t want to keep it. So, I can’t comment as to the cloud compatibility. Pet cube is not a surveillance system. I like the concept and what Pet Cube can provide but it doesn’t work for me. It is not what i thought it would be. I should’ve read more reviews or asked questions. No fault on the product, tho. Set-up was a tiny bit of a hassle. There is QR that has to be read by your phone and I don’t know if it was my phone or the code but it took a long time to read it. Maybe the firmware was also updating during that time and i didn’t know it. Wi-fi connection was fairly easy, too.I have 3 cats and one of them is pooping right beside the litter box instead of inside it. I don’t know which one is doing it or why it’s doing it. Is it due to bullying, is the cat physically not able to jump in the box? Is the cat just being a turd?? I don’t know. The litter can be freshly changed and as soon as I turn my back it still happens. Whichever cat is doing it is definitely a ninja pooper.I got the cameras hoping that i could go back through the video timeline and find the point when the load is dropped and then rewind to see who has the stealthy sphincter and to see what else is happening in the moment besides the pooping. Is another cat hogging the loo, etc.?The cameras alert as to motion and i see one cat come around and then sniff at the floor, then another cat comes in to see what the sniffing is about. Since the cameras only record short snippets of video and then stop, it remains a mystery. The video snippet stops before any action happens. But the next video snippet shows the turd in the floor and the cats on the other side of the room as if nothing happened. I still don’t know who is doing the dirty deed and since they are not likely to fess up or snitch, I’ll never know unless i have some kind of continuous surveillance video. But i do know that i am returning the cameras and getting an actual home surveillance system, like Nest, etc. I think it will work better for what I need. I’m tired of cleaning up after these little turds plus, I can have peace of mind knowing that I can check my home throughout for signs of intruders.
J’adoooooore mes caméras! Non seulement c’était facile de l’installer (charger l’application) mais je suis satisfaite de la qualité de l’image! ð
This camera does exactly what I needed, to be able to see if my cat has eaten or not. The picture is clear, the audio is fine and the view is quite wide. The only quibble I have is I wish it was wireless, as you’re beholden to where your outlets are. I would like to buy another, but I need to figure out where to put it and what outlet it can use. Other than that, it was easy to set up, I have never had an issue with the app, it’s a perfect little camera, excellent value, especially for the price.
I got one of these to check in on my bunnies while I’m at work. Easy to set up and easy to use software. Works exactly as advertised. Would recommend.
I ordered two cameras, didnât realize that it could only operate on 2.4GHz wifi, so I contacted customer support for help. They walked me through the process and it was actually super easy. One camera had a broken start button but they were more than happy to send me a replacement. So far Iâm happy with mine!
These cameras worked great at first but became glitchy after awhile. Not sure if it is due to the app or the cameras themselves. One of them stopped working completely…still trying to figure it out but I think it is a software problem with the app. Picture quality is great and the app is easy to use when it does work.
