Safe and effective
Bought the ring tag for my dog. Light weight. Size is a quarter. Quality is good. Itâs been on her for about a month. No fade. Easy to create a profile on the app. You can include the veterinarian information and additional information. I tested it – my husband scanned the tag and I immediately got notified that someone had scanned the tag. My dog is microchipped. Her having a ring tag gives me a peace of mind that is a more rapid way to get her home if she goes missing.
Easy setup and worked perfectly
For the price point, this is a quality product. While we have our beagle chipped I always worry someone wonât go to the trouble of taking him somewhere for it to be read and reported. This makes it easy for anyone with a smart phone and the screen it pops up with has their photo and all pertinent info. Even the phone number to call is masked so no personal info is provided to the caller. Great add to security for your pet. Easy setup within the Ring app.
LOVE THIS
We have ring cameras and I came across this one day and decided to buy it. Itâs not too big and not too small connect directly to your Ring account. One of my favorite purchases Iâve made the quality is nice and you can add photos of your pet when they scan the QR code, you can also add any allergies or anything about your dog that you may need to add and whoever is to scan the QR code send it will send you an alert immediately and they can call or text you, but it never reveals your personal phone number. I think itâs an awesome thing to have for your furry friend highly recommend
Great tag for cheap
It works well and is as advertised however, you do need to create an account to see the pet profile which is not very convenient but great for the price tag.
Glad I Bought This
This product was well-made and the Ring set up was very easy to do. All you need is the Ring App. Now, I have a peace of mind that if my dog ever gets lost, I’ll be easily contacted with the QR code that leads to my customized profile and contact information.
Hopefully it works if needed
Easy to set up as a Ring customer. Love the feature that Ring notifies you if someone reads the QR code. Seems durable but we shall see as my Doberman is an active big boy.
Metal!!
We have had several tags using a QR code for our dog. The rubber one was ripped off & a the plastic one was cracked and finally broke. We were excited to find this metal one that is light and works with our ring system we already have. The price was much better than the other 2 that broke. So far so good and the durability! Very light too.
Great concept, interactions with Ring support were amazing!
UPDATED REVIEW (about 1 week after orig 1-star review)Overall, tag is great in concept and execution in real life scenario is handled very well. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because of my interactions with Ring after I couldnât get the product to âworkâ during setup – after calling tech support and leaving 1-star review, Jess from Ring contacted me & left a message on how to get in touch with her. I sent some more info on the problem I was running into as well as a feature enhancement suggestion based on my recent experience (suggestion utilizes the gps coordinates of the scanning phone, preserving the finderâs anonymity while giving the pet owner some info about where the pet is). When Jess and I connected she explained (very politely) that based on privacy handling, the phone couldnât technically call itself (dial your own number sometime, I dare you!). She also suggested testing from a different phone if I wanted to continue testing. The coolest part was she told me that my suggestion was a great idea and they were going to look at including it in the next release! What I loved about this interaction was– The personal, direct support I got from Jess on behalf of Ring- The handing of how my issue was solved/explained- The handling of my feedback made me feel like Ring really cares about this product and wants it to be greatBecause the tag works AND my interactions with Ring (thanks again to Jess and also Alexis) Iâve got my pets tagged, Iâm giving them as Xmas gifts, and Iâm recommending them as great peace of mind insurance to anyone whoâll listen. The product only has one minor flaw (see orig review below) – the whole thing doesnât work if you are testing it with the phone you used to set it up. Btw thatâs not really the flaw, I can understand why they didnât put in extra work on the corner case that the owner is trying to contact themselves to test the product. The flaw is that they donât tell you anywhere that it wonât work with the same phone (and Iâm not the only person that would want to test the tag). As long as thatâs communicated during setup, Iâm 1,000% in love with this product!ORIG REVIEW:Along with other reviewers, I agree that initial setup wasnât super intuitive for the pet tags. You can create a pet profile independent of the tag, the tag setup is just associating the pet profile to the specific QR code.PROBLEM IS when I scan the QR code (like the dog was found by someone else):1. the ownerâs phone gets notified correctly that someone scanned the tag.2. As the tag scanner, it tells me I can contact the owner via phone or sms – but for some reason, the phone number it texts is NOT MINE. (Not owner)It uses a completely different phone number – diff area code for a diff state, etc. When I call the number through the QR code itâs disconnected, nothing happens when I send texts through the app.I love this idea, but right now Iâve wasted $20 on two tags that donât contact me if my dogs are found. I called Ring support team but first tech support wasnât familiar with the product at all because itâs still so new. Theyâre going to research it and get back to me (Iâll update the review accordingly) but at this point itâs looking like Iâm going to need to return these for refunds because they just donât work.
